DESCRIPTION/ DEFINITION |
A 2-ply or 3-ply, flexible, engraving stock
constructed of an opaque colored
film, about .001" thick,
laminated to a
contrasting colored ABS base (or core) sheet. 3-Ply material is used to
produce 2-sided products. |

CHARACTERISTICS |
Matte material features a micro-thin cap sheet
which permits finely detailed engraving. Non-glare,
matte finish. Thin
cap sheet will scratch very easily. The Mattes are intended for indoor
use; colors will exhibit slight fading under prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight. Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP
- for engraving. |
The Metals line of plastic engraving stock
features the luster of real
brushed metal finishes. An economical
plastic alternative with the look of real metal. Features a micro-thin
cap sheet which permits finely detailed engraving. Thin cap sheet will
scratch very easily. The metals are intended for indoor use; colors will
exhibit slight fading under prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Conforms to Federal Specification No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving. |
The Metals line (above) with an added
protective laminate film. The addition of a laminate produces a material
that is smudge- resistant and mar-resistant. The Nomark Metals are
intended for indoor use; colors will exhibit slight fading under
prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Conforms to Federal Specification
No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving. |
A line of engravable plastics designed for
outdoor use, that simulates the look of The Metals line. The cap sheet
is composed of brushed plastic rather than
film and as a result does not
have the metallic luster that The Metals and Nomark Metals lines have.
UV stable, and outdoor weatherable. Conforms to Federal Specification
No. L-P-387, Type NDP - for engraving. |
A large variety of micro-thin cap sheet
materials are available with faux wood grain and stone / marble
finishes, geometric patterns, mirror finishes, and hundreds of colors
including fluorescents. In addition, translucent base sheets are
available for backlighting. The thin cap sheets permit finely detailed
engraving and scratch easily. These materials are intended for indoor
use; colors will exhibit slight fading under prolonged exposure to
direct sunlight. |
Used for creating tactile
signage in
contrasting color combinations to comply with The Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA). 1/32" thick appliqué version is used to create
raised text and pictograms on top of 1/16" or 1/8" thick substrate
version of material. Grade II Braille is typically engraved into
substrate. |
