DESCRIPTION/ DEFINITION

Available in a wide range of thicknesses from foils to .125" thick sheet. Standard alloys are 1100 series and 5005-H34 (other alloys are available.) Available in mill and anodized finishes. Standard finish is brushed (or satin) finish.

Available in a wide range of thicknesses from foils to .125" thick sheet. Consists of fully anodized, 1100 series aluminum alloy with photographically produced silver halide metal graphics embedded (or sealed) beneath its clear, sapphire-hard anodic layer.

Yellow brass; 260 alloy (70% copper and 30% tin.)

Stainless steel is made mostly from iron and nickel. Standard type is 304 with a brushed finish. (Other types of stainless steel such as 316 and 410 are available.)

CHARACTERISTICS

Strong, lightweight, economical, moderate abrasion resistance, may easily bend or dent. Non-anodized finishes are clear coated and baked for additional durability, except in environments which are repeatedly subjected to industrial strength cleaners / solvents.

Most durable type of aluminum nameplate product offering the highest resolution capability of any substrate. Good chemical & corrosion resistance; Excellent abrasion, heat and U.V. resistance. Industry & government specifications include: UL File #MH17767; CSA File #11133-1, Class #7921; Federal Specification GCP-455b, Type I & II, Grade A or B; Mil-P-15024F; Mil-P-514D; Mil-P-19834B; Mil-A-8625E.

Rich appearance is difficult to duplicate with other metals. Brass is one of the most expensive metal nameplate substrate. May be polished to a gold like appearance or given a satin (brushed) finish. As with other metals, brass can be printed or chemically etched and paintfilled. The matte finish that results from etching (without using any color ../fill) is also very attractive.

Excellent chemical and heat resistance; well suited with demanding corrosive, marine, and industrial environments. Strong, durable, and dent / scratch resistant.

ADHESIVES

Sheet stock is produced without adhesive; virtually any adhesive can be applied to this material. In most cases, adhesive will work well with thinner materials (.032" and under). Mechanical fasteners such as screws, rivets, nails, etc. are recommended for heavier thicknesses.
